VidyoReplay Enables Large Numbers of Users to Record and Webcast from Vidyo Endpoints

Hackensack, NJ – February 28, 2011 – Vidyo®, Inc. today announced the availability of the VidyoReplay™ appliance, enabling easy-to-use webcasting and recording for the Vidyo™ solution.  As video communication adoption accelerates, companies are increasingly creating, storing and delivering high quality video content.  VidyoReplay is an appliance that allows large numbers of users to concurrently watch a Vidyo™ conference via web browser, either in real-time or at any time after the conference.  Users can also record and webcast from Vidyo endpoints, including hand held devices, laptops, desktops and VidyoRoom™ systems.  With VidyoReplay, conferences can be recorded in standard web video file (FLV) format with no proprietary player required to view the recorded content. It is available now for an introductory price of $9,500 and is being demonstrated at Enterprise Connect in Orlando, FL, February 28 – March 3, at Vidyo’s Booth #1209.

“Here at ASU’s School of Life Sciences, students are participating in high-quality Vidyo exchanges with Smithsonian Institution scientists and researchers located in the jungles of Panama,” said Charles Kazilek, Director of Technology Integration and Outreach, School of Life Sciences, Arizona State University.  “With VidyoReplay we can now capture these valuable interactions to use as an educational resource for larger groups of students to view and learn from; it enhances the learning experience for our faculty and students, alike. The Vidyo system transforms typical mediated classrooms on campus into real time, research and learning environments. No other video communications solution offers the kind of access, ease-of-use and quality that we’re getting from Vidyo and now, with VidyoReplay, ability to record and broadcast the content of this video collaboration.  Vidyo has opened a range of education and research opportunities that we never thought would be possible.”

“VidyoReplay extends Vidyo’s ability to connect disparate endpoints to deliver low-cost, HD multipoint video conferences and now allows users to capture this content for future off-line viewing, anytime and anyplace,” said Ofer Shapiro, Vidyo’s co-found and CEO.  “Our customers in Education, Healthcare, Legal Services, and the Enterprise are finding VidyoReplay a ‘must have’ tool for a variety of different purposes–lowering expenses, generating revenues, collaborating efficiently across time zones, sharing information with large audiences and providing value-added services to their client base.  The ability to easily and affordably record and broadcast high-quality Vidyo conferences is another reason that so many organizations are embracing Vidyo technology and products.”

Increasing the Value of the Vidyo Conference Solution

Vidyo provides users with the ability to turn their conferences into valuable content to be broadcast live or recorded for use at a later time. Users can simply, with a single mouse click, webcast and/or record Vidyo conferences, classroom and training sessions, medical procedures, product announcements, customer support alerts and practically any other important visual communication content, via a secured and encrypted connection. VidyoReplay administrators have total control and flexibility to set permissions for user groups, controlling who is able to record, webcast, and access the stored content.

The product includes an intuitive content management application with search and annotation capability, a user-friendly portal for browsing and viewing recordings and DVR-like functionality (pause, rewind, delay start, go to live, etc.) for viewing live webcasting. Since recorded Vidyo conferences are stored in FLV format, no proprietary client is required to view the content – any standard flash player plug-in will do. With a dedicated and hashed hyperlink assigned to each recording and live webcast, as well as the options to set the level of access and even PIN protect content; sharing recording links via a default email client securely with others has never been easier for multitenant deployments.  This enables large numbers of users to watch a Vidyo conference concurrently via their web browsers, either in real-time or at any time after the conference

Users can also record and webcast from any Vidyo endpoint, including hand held devices, laptops, desktops and Vidyo-Room™ systems.  A single VidyoReplay™ appliance can support up to 300 concurrent content views and store more than 2000 hours of HD video. Integration with an external storage server (NAS) is supported as well.

Vidyo´s Intellectual Property

Vidyo was the first company to develop a new architecture that is based on H.264 SVC for video conferencing. The VidyoRouter architecture offers industry leading error resiliency and the lowest latency by eliminating the MCU, and is the first video multipoint solution that can deliver rate matching and continuous presence capabilities without an additional video encode and decode. This unique capability allows for less than half of the end-to-end latency of MCU-based solutions.
